MRC Sound Decoder

November 5th, 2008

A short clip showing off a MRC sound decoder I installed on a Kato SD90. This decoder has a speaker built-in on the board, so it’s literally plug-n-play like traditional decoders.  Haven’t done any programming yet though, so these are all the default sounds and volume levels.

After seeing this video, I’m more compelled to go for sound in my engines. Did you install the decoders yourself or were they factory installed?

This one I installed myself. I plan on adding a sound decoder into one of the Amtrak P42 and at least one other UP diesel.

They really do bring the engines to life.
