Some Scenery Work

January 12th, 2009

Over the weekend I worked on completing some of the base terrain on the lower level. I’d like to get everything taped up and covered with an “earth wash” by Friday so I can spend the weekend working on the blast furnace kit.  After that, I’ll give the tape a covering of ground plaster.

Shaun, You may want to move the double headed signal closer to the footing of the bridge, so it is closer to the rail joints near the switch points. Or you could move it to the other end of the bridge. I have seen where the real RR would include the bridge within the OS section, that way the bridge is “protected” if there is a washout etc. Or you could include the crossing at grade (the diamond) in the OS too. Keep up the good work!

I just thinking the same thing after I got that tape down. The signal is behind the points, an odd location, so I think I may move it to the opposite side of the bridge and the track crossing like you said.
